DJT Administration
The current presidential administration, in my opinion (and definitely many others), is a disgrace to America. There is nothing patriotic about what they are doing/trying to accomplish. I find it very unfortunate that half of Americans voted for Trump and believe it’s setting us back many years as they lack the care for humanity. There hasn't been a single course of action that has been beneficial to the working/lower class, which is who represents the majority of Americas population. Those who don’t recognize the authoritarianism either choose not to or are blind.
First thing I want to address is the “Big Beautiful Bill” that has now officially passed. This bill that has been introduced not only negatively impacts the working/lower class, but aids top corporations and high income earners. The group benefiting from this makes up for about 10% percent of Americans. One of the many downsides to this bill includes cutting funding for Medicaid. We’ll be seeing cuts of $800 billion (yes with a B) or more in America’s healthcare, a system that already lacks affordability. Not only will we see cuts in Medicaid, but also SNAP benefits. Again, directly affecting the working/lower class as these benefits were created to help families in low-income households afford food. On top of these targeted cuts, the bill intends to eliminate tax breaks that were given to those who purchased electric vehicles. These breaks were put in place as an incentive to encourage the public to purchase electric vehicles in order to combat global warming. Climate change is a real issue that has scientific evidence to back it up, but of course is being dismissed by the current administration.
You may ask, where will this money go if not towards supporting those in need? Well there will be $350 billion going towards the border and national security, but what does really mean? $46 billion will be invested into the development of the U.S.-Mexico border wall and another $45 billion going towards migrant detention facilities (aka concentration camps). It’s been announced that the name of this facility is “Alligator Alcatraz” and will be located in Florida, surrounded by a swamp full of alligators to deter migrants from escaping. Trump is seeking to deport 1 million migrants per year which will likely come at the cost of migrants legally living in the U.S. like we’ve seen previously with Abrego Garcia. It’s already come out that the conditions in which migrants are kept in the facility are inhumane as they’re fed 1 meal a day (some served with maggots), experience 24/7 fluorescent lighting, and are stripped of their religious rights. It’s becoming more and more obvious that Trump’s agenda to deport migrants is fueled by racism (if it wasn’t obvious already.)
It’s been disappointing to see the amount of supporters Trump has been able to garner on the subject. Especially seeing that world leaders such as Nayib Bukele, El Salvador’s president, is one of them. Bukele has stated that he is eager to help America with its crime problem and considers many migrants "terrorists,” which led to Abrego Garcia being deported and detained in CECOT, a maximum security prison located in El Salvador. Although the establishment of CECOT has led to a huge decrease in crime within El Salvador, it’s notoriously known for holding many innocent civilians who have not been put through fair trials. However, the political state of El Salvador is a whole other topic.
While on the topic of world leaders supporting one another, it’s been difficult to watch Trump and Netanyahu’s relationship strengthen during this presidency as the U.S. continues to fund the ongoing GENOCIDE in Gaza. As of today, over 60,000 Palestinians have been brutally murdered at the hands of Israel, with about a third of victims being under the age of 18. Yet, we still continue to fund Israel’s military weapons which have been used to bomb hospitals and religious sites and block humanitarian aid such as food. The ongoing war has led to famine in the country of Palestine. Trump claims to have given $60 million worth of food to Gaza, however there is no evidence stating that the money was ever disbursed nor that $60 million was ever approved. On top of these lies, he had the audacity to ask for a thank you from the Palestinians. As if the money he claims to have donated would ever offset the amount of damage the U.S. has contributed towards.
Another issue I have with the administration is their handling of the Epstein files,
